The short version
The site needs exactly two values in your browser to behave: one holding the answer you gave to the age question, one holding the button you pressed on the banner. Beyond those two, analytics and advertising measurement sit switched off until you agree to them. The cookie settings button at the foot of every page lets you take that back whenever you want.
What a cookie means on this site
Like everybody else we stretch the word to cover two different things: real cookies, and the storage area that browsers keep for a site. Our two essential values belong to the second kind, which matters, because that sort never travels back to the server with a page request. The Google tags, once you allow them, behave in the ordinary way and set cookies proper.
Essential storage, always on
- kha_age_confirmed – records that you answered the age question, so the check does not reappear on every page. Set when you press a button on the age check. Stored in local storage until you clear it.
- kha_consent – records whether you accepted all cookies or only the essential ones, so the banner stops asking. Stored in local storage until you clear it or change your choice.
Neither value contains a name, an email address, a date of birth or an identifier that could be traced back to you. They cannot be read by any other website, and they are not transmitted to us. Without them the site would ask the age question again on every single page, which is why there is no option to refuse them.
Analytics, only with your consent
With consent we load Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies in the _ga family, typically _ga and _ga_<container id>, to tell one visit apart from another and to count pages, entry points and devices. We use it to see which sections people actually read, so we know what to expand and what to cut. These cookies last up to two years unless you clear them. If you choose essential only, the Analytics tag is never activated and these cookies are never set.
Advertising measurement, only with your consent
With consent we also load Google Ads conversion measurement, which may set or read cookies such as _gcl_au and, on Google domains, IDE and test_cookie. Their job is narrow: to tell us that somebody who clicked an advertisement later reached the contact section or wrote to reception. Those cookies live for between a few minutes and roughly three months. Note again what is not involved: there is nothing to buy here, no bet to place and no payment to process, so there is no transaction for anyone to track.
Consent mode, in plain terms
Every page in this site sets Google Consent Mode v2 to denied in the document head, before any tag has a chance to run. The four signals set to denied are advertising storage, advertising user data, advertising personalisation and analytics storage. When you press Accept all, the site sends a single update that flips those four to granted. When you press Essential only, it stores your refusal and sends nothing further. The denied state is the starting point for every visitor, including visitors who ignore the banner entirely.
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings button in the footer of any page. The banner comes back, and whatever you press next replaces your earlier choice immediately. Withdrawing consent stops any further collection. It cannot reach back and undo measurement that already happened while consent was in place, though you can ask Google to delete data associated with your identifiers under their own policies.
Blocking cookies in the browser itself
Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data, in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari alike, usually under privacy or site settings. Private or incognito windows discard everything when the window closes. Be aware that blocking storage for this site means the age check will ask you again on each page, because the answer has nowhere to live.
Tracking you will not find here
- Not one social network pixel: search the source and you will find no Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn or X code in it.
- No device fingerprinting, no canvas tricks and no attempt to recognise you without storage.
- No advertising profiles built or sold by us, and no data brokers in the chain.
- No chat widget, no heatmap recorder and no session replay.
- No gambling software of any kind, because the casino is a room in a building and not a product on this site.
